Who We Are
At Navlean’s Academic Center, we know that sometimes all a child needs is a little support to bring out their hidden talents. Our founder Navlean Pittman believed in this and had a desire in 2017 to start a school for her grandkids to meet their academic challenges. She believed that every child had the ability to learn through experience. As an advocate for education in her community, her efforts inspired many children to improve their education by participating in programs such as Lawrence County 4-H, Baptist Training Union (BTU) missions, America Reads, Girls Scouts, and Parents as Teachers program at the Lawrence Co. Resource Center. As she did, we believe that there is a genius in every child, and we are determined to continue making an impact. We strive to provide innovative and personal instructions to children with challenging learning (dis) abilities using practical applications in a non-traditional setting that will produce confident, independent, and self-sufficient students.
What We do
LEARNING IS FUN
Navlean’s Academic Center is a non-profit private Christian school helping children in grades 1- 8th with learning disabilities surrounding ADHD and other developmental delays. Our programs allow children to be themselves, have fun while learning, and rid them of frustrations they may experience in a traditional classroom. Our programs provide research-based instruction, partnering with doctors, psychologists, academic teachers who are experts in their fields and educational counselors to provide the best practical applications for students with learning disabilities.

Vision
We aim to help students gain the discipline necessary to achieve academic success through counseling, practical applications in English,Reading/prereading skills, math manipulatives, and hands-on activities. We provide an environment conducive to teaching according to the child’s learning style. In time, this will help the child overcome challenges with their focus,comprehension and social struggles.
